Night of Reunion

Night of Reunion by Michael Allegretto

Night of Reunion by Michael Allegretto is a gripping sleeping thriller about a psychotic murderess who comes back to claim her son once again after giving him up for adoption.

Christine Helstrum — escaped mental asylum patient and murderer plots her way to finish the unfinished.  She believes her son is still alive and living with Alex.  A thrilling stalker-tale where the psychotic killer plays cat and mouse.

I enjoyed reading Night of Reunion by Michael Allegretto.  Allegretto masterfully builds suspense and gives readers a few big chilling events before the finale.  The ending was one I didn’t entirely see coming.  I loved the fact that this book had unpredictable moments and was not a typical stalker-tale.

Sometimes, the story moved too slowly for my taste and there were some moments within the book where I found myself getting frustrated with the main characters.  Of course, that is all part of being a reader as we are privy to information that the main characters are not.  Still — some of those moments seemed like obvious “aha” moments that might have helped move the plot along a bit faster.

All in all, Night of Reunion did what I hoped it would — and that is that it provided a solid suspenseful plot and psychotic villain!

My Rating for Night of Reunion:

3-star

Inheritance by Thomas Wymark

Inheritance by Thomas Wymark was a book that took me by surprise. Typically, books like these can take time to build into something that you just can’t put down. However, the magic in this particular book lies within its characters. So, I found myself hooked within the first chapter or two. Our main character — Christine is both […]
