Dust to Dust
is the final installment of the Experiment in Terror series. It is the 9th book in the series. As an enthusiastic fan of the EIT series, I can say that the entire book was both satisfying and final. Karina Halle managed to break my heart in a million pieces and somehow glue them back together again. Dex and Perry. Perry and Dex.
I love how Halle artfully looped the previous books into Dust to Dust
. This book is as consistently good as the others. The characters evolve and change in a way that is perfection. They stay on the path that Halle has crafted for them.
When I think of this book, one word comes to mind: redemption. Each character has a moment that redeems them and makes them whole again. As a reader, I found it immensely satisfying and also heartbreaking. It brings to mind that you need to cherish every second in life. Because each second, eventually fades into but a memory.
I have to say that as a fan of Dex and Perry and the Experiment in Terror Series, I never wanted it to end. I felt like Dex and Perry stories could go on and on. Even though I was excited about this final book, I was also really sad. I wouldn’t even read it until I read the series over again. Because the end is the end. It’s final. Even though I know that I can go back and read through the entire series again, it still ends. What’s that old saying? Ah yes… all good things must come to an end. And so did the Experiment in Terror Series.
BUT WAIT:
[su_spoiler title=”Wanna know a secret?”]Ada Palomino is getting her own spinoff series!! The first book “Veiled” is set to hit virtual shelves later in 2015.[/su_spoiler]
