Bold Tricks by Karina Halle

April 28, 2014 By Kellie Leave a Comment

Bold Tricks is Karina Halle’s thrilling conclusion to The Artists Trilogy.

Javier, Ellie and Camden are reluctant allies on the run from Travis Raines and his cartel.  To say that things didn’t go as planned is the understatement of the century.  Now that Travis knows who Ellie is and that Javier is involved, he will stop at nothing to take them down.

The awesome threesome plan to take down Travis and rescue Gus.  Lots of loose ends to tie up from Shooting Scars!  Both men are indeed in love with Ellie… but who will she choose, if anyone?

Since the ending of the first book in the series, Sins and Needles — I have been team Ellie all the way!

Bold Tricks is a fitting title for this book.  All throughout the book I had wondered how long Camden was going to be able to survive.  I wondered whether or not Ellie would choose one of them or choose herself.  I asked myself would Javier meet his ultimate goal of being the highest power in the cartel and get the girl too?  All of these questions were answered and more!

I have to say, Javier is one of those characters who is hard to completely hate.  He seems to have his own special code of morality and ethics.  While he’s totally a bad guy…. he isn’t a bad guy.  If that makes sense?  I found myself not necessarily rooting for him to win… but more or less rooting for him to live.

In this book, Ellie grew leaps and bounds and figured out that life is not black and white.  I think Camden finally came to that same conclusion as well.  Even though in the first book he was very much black and white with his thought process.

This book is really good and concludes beautifully.

My Rating For Bold Tricks:

4-star

Stephen King’s 11-22-63

I’m not a big Stephen King fan.  At least, I wasn’t — until I read Stephen King’s 11/22/63. What if John F. Kennedy had never been shot?  What if — YOU got the chance to go back in time and prevent the tragic event from happening?  In fact, what if you could go back in […]

Shooting Scars

When I come across a Karina Halle series, it is hard for me to “only” read the first book.  So naturally, when I was done with Sins & Needles, I just had to download and read the second book in the Artist’s Trilogy — Shooting Scars. Shooting Scars (such an appropriate name for this book), […]
